Sonoma Coast: Whale watching and deep sea fishing for salmon, halibut and Dungeness crab can be arranged from Bodega Bay, on the beautiful Sonoma coast. The coast offers stunning scenery, and opportunities to observe seals basking with their pups and sea-otters at play. Ospreys fly above the Russian River.

| Hiking, fishing, and swimming: Both Annadel and Spring Lake Park have extensive hiking trails. Annadel offers more than 12 miles of trails climbing 1,000ft through valley oaks to Lake Ilsanjo, a 30 acre haven of tranquility. Its trails extend more than 12 miles along the flanks of Mt. Sonoma. Both parks have the remains of local basalt mining, and the quarry that used Melitta's little station is 1/2 mile above us on Cobblestone Trail. There are lakes with Bass, Bluegill, Trout and Catfish. Great geo-caching in and around Annadel ( see here ). There is an open-air pool at Spring Lake Park (seasonal opening) and a public pool at Finley Park in Santa Rosa. | | Nature: Take a peaceful stroll in the Armstrong Redwoods State Park and marvel at the tranquil majesty of these ancient giants. Continue to the beautiful Sonoma Coast and watch seals, avocets, oystercatchers and ospreys at the countless State Beaches between the Russian River and Bodega Bay. One of the best nature spots along the West Coast lies just south of Sonoma County, 25 miles from the inn at Point Reyes National Seashore (as selected by AAA's VIA magazine in July 2005). | |
Hot Air Ballooning and Canoeing: A short distance west is the magnificent Pacific Ocean. On your way there, you can wine taste along the Russian River, take in a canoe ride, or go ballooning above the vineyards.
|
Relaxation: Just book one of our massage specials and enjoy your stay. Other speciality spas offer a variety of massage experiences. 30 minutes east of the inn is the town of Calistoga in Napa Valley where you can soak in the hot springs, and relax in a mud bath.
|
Local Attractions: Just minutes away from the inn is the Charles M Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa where you can see the creation and life of Snoopy and the Peanuts cartoon characters. The Pacific Air Museum is situated at the Charles M Shulz Airport and hosts a large Flying Day weekend every August. Safari West and the Petrified Forest are great nearby attractions for young and old alike.
